WHY 'DOING IT FOR YOUR FAMILY' IS A FAILURE TRAP

I speak to a lot of men⁣

I ask – ‘𝘞𝘩𝘺 𝘥𝘰 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘸𝘢𝘯𝘵 𝘵𝘰 𝘭𝘰𝘴𝘦 𝘸𝘦𝘪𝘨𝘩𝘵?’⁣

The most common answer? ⁣

‘For my family – the partner and kids’⁣

Well why is it that these same men can’t motivate themselves to even get started? ⁣

I know with certainty, the answer. ⁣

Changing yourself is hard! ⁣

Not only does it require courage to start⁣

But it requires you to adopt a new mindset that’s different to your current one⁣

It’s going to require you to push through large piles of shit some days, ⁣

Undoing 10-20 years of crap habits⁣

It’s damn hard to do, especially if you’re doing it alone. ⁣

But, the main problem is this… ⁣

Doing it for someone else, other than YOU mate! ⁣

It might be honourable to say ‘I want to do it for them family’⁣

But I can tell you sure as hell, ⁣

When you’re tired from work, ⁣

When you just want to sit down, ⁣

When you feel the lure of booze to chill you out, ⁣

“The family” are not enough motivation.⁣

When you look in the mirror and feel like you’re failing, ⁣

That’s not ‘the family’, ⁣

These are thoughts you have about yourself. ⁣

𝐀𝐧𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐨𝐧𝐥𝐲 𝐰𝐚𝐲 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐜𝐚𝐧 𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐞, 𝐢𝐬 𝐭𝐨 𝐝𝐨 𝐢𝐭 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐘𝐎𝐔𝐑𝐒𝐄𝐋𝐅. ⁣

Imagine looking in that same mirror and feeling proud, ⁣

Imagine losing 10kg and feeling energetic⁣

Imagine being able to call yourself ‘a healthy man’⁣

These feelings are for YOU⁣

They benefit your family, but they are FOR YOU! ⁣

YOU don’t want to miss out on life with them, FOR YOU⁣

YOU don’t want to let them down, FOR YOU⁣

YOU want to feel successful, FOR YOU⁣

YOU need this FOR YOU⁣

It’s starts with YOU⁣

And when you start understanding and believing this, ⁣

Operating from this position, ⁣

True, sustainable change can commence!
